Nanny Compensation
-
Hourly Rates
Nannies should earn a competitive hourly rate which should be commensurate with experience and dependent on the duties expected of them. Current rates range from $30 - $40 per hour.
-
Legal Pay
North Sound Nannies requires families to withhold taxes, match FICA and Social Security withholdings and issue a W-2 at the end of the year. We’ve teamed up with SurePayroll to make the process easy.
-
Guaranteed Hours
Guaranteed hours is a childcare industry standard. Similar to daycare, where you pay for your day whether you use it or not, guaranteed hours ensures your nanny is available to work their usual hours.
-
Paid Time Off
We require families to offer sick leave accrual according to WA State Policy, 1 week of PTO, and 6 paid holidays if the holiday lands on a regularly scheduled work day.
-
Over Time
Per WA State law, North Sound Nannies requires families to pay their nannies time and a half for hours the nanny works over 40 hours in a calendar week.
-
Reimbursement
Nannies should receive a per mile reimbursement for gas and vehicle wear and tear for miles driven for their employer such as child transportation or requested errands.
